The three bags (and one optional extra)
1) Running bag (the pack you race with)
This is the pack you wear while moving on course.
It must always contain:
- All mandatory kit
- All food you need for the stage(s)
Rules:
- You must carry all compulsory kit at all times.
- No mandatory kit or food can be swapped into the drop bag or left at camp.
- Keep critical items dry (use a waterproof pack liner + smaller dry bags).
2) Drop bag / night bag (Camp 1 bag)
Purpose: spare warm kit for the evenings you spend at Camp 1 (after Stages 1 and 2).
Allowance: up to 6kg. *note this has been changed since past editions and we have increased the weight.
This is your own bag (we don’t provide it).
What you can pack:
- Spare warm clothes
- A sleeping mat
- Camp footwear (e.g., sandals)
Must not contain:
